Desmond "DJ" Yarborough lives at the intersection of two worlds most people keep separate: the pulpit and the lab bench.
By calling, DJ is the Lead Pastor of Heart of Worship Church (HOWCHURCH) in Paterson, NJ, where he leads a congregation rooted in Kingdom theology, teaching identity before activity, transformation over mere improvement, and the presence of God as the source of everything the church does. His preaching, discipleship pathways, and men's ministry work all carry the same conviction: deep truth has to be packaged in a way that sticks, a standard he credits to his spiritual father, Dr. Dharius Daniels.
By trade, DJ is a quality engineering executive with over two decades of experience leading design assurance, risk management, and regulatory compliance across highly regulated industries. He currently serves at Mattel, Inc., where he leads Quality Engineering for toy design and serves as the global lead over all Toy Testing Labs, overseeing operations across six countries. Before Mattel, he spent nearly two decades in the medical device industry, most recently as Senior Director, Quality Engineering–Design Assurance at Integra LifeSciences, where he owned risk management and usability engineering processes and personally guided teams through complex regulatory challenges, including resolving an FDA Warning Letter with zero follow-up observations. He is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and holds a BS in Manufacturing Systems Technology from North Carolina A&T State University.
It's that combination, rigorous systems thinking honed across global engineering organizations, paired with pastoral conviction, that led DJ to found RighteousAI Network (RAIN). He saw churches facing the same technological shift reshaping every industry he'd worked in, without a framework for engaging it wisely. RAIN exists to close that gap: equipping pastors and ministry leaders to integrate artificial intelligence into how they operate and disciple, without ever compromising theological integrity for the sake of efficiency.
DJ doesn't see technology and faith as competing interests. He sees them as two disciplines that, stewarded rightly, both point back to the same goal: freeing people, systems, and churches to do what they were actually built for.
